Where each stops

What Wati does that Thredo does not, and the reverse.

Wati has

A mature WhatsApp platform: broadcasts, campaign automations, click-to-WhatsApp ads, Instagram and TikTok DMs, a shared team inbox, 3 to 5 users on the plan. The marketing side is what it is built around and it is strong at it.

Wati costs

The AI answers on credits on top of the plan (250 to 1,500 a month included, then $20 per 1,000), its newer AI agents are a separate add-on with no published price, extra users are $24 to $59 each, and Meta's conversation charges are billed on top of all of it.

Thredo does not

Reads orders but never changes them. No helpdesk layer: no macros, SLAs or CSAT. No broadcasts or marketing campaigns. No SMS or voice.

Questions

The questions that actually decide it.

Is Thredo a replacement for Wati?

Only for the answering part. Wati is a WhatsApp marketing platform with a team inbox and an AI on credits; Thredo is an AI agent that answers on WhatsApp, Instagram and the web, with an inbox to watch it. If what you want is broadcasts to ten thousand numbers, Wati is the tool and Thredo does not do it. If what you want is every "where is my order" and "kya ye size fit hoga" answered without a person, that is what Thredo is for.

What does a WhatsApp conversation cost on each?

Meta's conversation fee is the same whoever you use: it is Meta's. On top of it, Wati bills its plan (and extra users, and AI credits past the included 250 to 1,500 a month). Thredo bills per reply the agent sends, from the plan's allowance; a template Thredo sends from its own number for a store costs 20 replies. On the $79 plan that is 5,000 replies a month, no users to count.

Can Thredo send broadcasts?

No. It sends an order confirmation, a review request, a cart reminder and a back-in-stock message, each to one person about one thing they did, inside Meta's rules for each. It does not send campaigns, and a store that lives on campaigns should keep Wati for them.

Can I use both?

Yes, on two numbers. Thredo can answer on a number of its own, or send the order messages from Thredo's number on your behalf, while Wati keeps your marketing number. One WhatsApp number can only be connected to one platform at a time.

Which one knows the order?

Both connect to Shopify. The difference is what happens when a shopper asks about an order in an anonymous web chat: Thredo asks for two facts that must both match before it says anything, fails closed, and answers a missing order and a wrong email identically. On WhatsApp the number itself is the proof, so it usually asks for nothing.
