Where each stops

What Intercom Fin does that Thredo does not, and the reverse.

Intercom Fin has

The most mature agent in the category, on a platform that does tickets, product tours and outbound too, and since 2026 sold on its own for teams on another helpdesk.

Intercom Fin costs

Seats on top of outcomes: $29 to $132 a seat a month, or a minimum monthly commitment of outcomes on the standalone plan. WhatsApp is a pay-as-you-go add-on per message. Priced for teams several times the size of a two-person store.

Thredo does not

Reads orders but never changes them. No helpdesk layer: no macros, SLAs or CSAT. No broadcasts or marketing campaigns. No SMS or voice.

Questions

The questions that actually decide it.

Should a small store choose Fin?

If it already runs Intercom, Fin is the obvious agent to turn on, and it is very good. If it does not, Fin means buying seats ($29 to $132 a seat a month) or a minimum monthly commitment of outcomes on the standalone plan, before the first reply. A store with two people and a few hundred conversations a month is not who that pricing is for.

How do $0.99 per outcome and Thredo's per-reply pricing compare?

An outcome on Fin is one conversation it resolved. Thredo bills per reply the agent sends. At 4 replies to settle a conversation, Thredo's $79 plan comes to about $0.063 a conversation against $0.99, before Intercom's seats. If your threads run long the gap narrows; if a person steps in, neither bills the part they handled.

Does Fin do WhatsApp?

As an add-on, charged per message sent, on top of seats and outcomes. Thredo includes WhatsApp on every plan and bills the agent's replies from the same allowance as every other channel.

What does Fin do that Thredo does not?

Everything a large support team expects: tickets, SLAs, reporting, product tours, outbound, and an agent that has been tuned on more conversations than anyone else's. Thredo is an agent with an inbox. It does not try to be the system a 40-person team runs its day in.

Can Thredo change an order?

No. It reads status, tracking and the courier's own word, and hands anything that would change the order to a person. Fin can take actions when they are built for it.

Run it on your own queue for a week.
